THE BRIEF
We were approach by our client to tender for a fast-track store opening project, where we needed to engineer, manufacture and install everything that went into two new stores. From the award of tender, 12 weeks had been allocated for manufacture.
We unfortunately came second at tender stage, however 6 weeks after contract award, the selected supplier dropped out and could no longer deliver to the timescales set. We were therefore asked if we could step in and hit the proposed opening date which was now in just 6 weeks.
OUR APPROACH
To ensure we could successfully meet the 6 week deadline, we quickly engaged and collaborated with our trusted Turkish manufacturing partner. Once we had commitment from our supply chain partner, regular communication was key to the success of this project. All parties engaged in regular video calls to quickly agree design changes and share progress, this approach mitigated any potential risks, so there were no delays.
To put further pressure on our delivery, our client initially gave the wrong paint colour, so we had to strip and repaint products!
SUCCESS
The new Merrell & Saucony stores were opened on time, to brief and most importantly met the expectations of our client.
